Olga Domokos
Olga Domokos

Olga is Sea Star’s Administrative Director and Language Arts Teacher in the Middle School. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Management and started her carrier in Marketing for high-tech companies. After the birth of her three children, she developed a keen interest in education, especially alternative education. In 2003 she founded a program for young children of Hungarian descent in Minneapolis, MN. She led classes teaching songs, finger play, and cooking among many things while building a community. After returning to her native Hungary, Olga taught English as a Second Language and soon became the director of a growing language school. She took on training in teaching methodology, mentoring and leadership. These skills lead to invitations to help corporations with their organizational development needs.

Olga’s two older sons have graduated from a Blue Valley Waldorf School in Hungary. Her youngest son is in fifth grade at Sea Star. In her free time, Olga enjoys swimming, inline skating, and translating poetry.

Charissa Johnson
Charissa Johnson

Charissa has a deep appreciation for Waldorf Education and the unique experience it provides children. Having grown up in a Waldorf community, attending Waldorf School from Kindergarten through Grade 12, Charissa felt well prepared to go on to attend Bennington College in VT. She graduated with a BA in Music/Songwriting & Voice in 2001, and graduated from Sunbridge Institute in NY in 2012 with a degree in Waldorf Early Childhood Education. Miss Charissa has been involved in teaching at Sea Star since 2009 and is the lead teacher of Sea Star’s Rosebud Nursery Class. Both her children attend Sea Star School.

Rena Osmer
Rena Osmer

Rena Osmer has been a Waldorf Educator since 1985 and has been training Waldorf Early Childhood teachers for over 20 years. Rena is a founding teacher of Sea Star School. She holds a Masters Degree in Education, is the former Director of the Early Childhood Dept. at Rudolf Steiner College in California, and is Co-Director of the LifeWays Early Childhood Teacher Training opening in Kimberton, PA, in summer 2017.

Mindy Wecker
Mindy Wecker

Mindy has been involved in Waldorf Education and study since 1992 both at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California and Antioch University in New Hampshire. She has been an early childhood educator in settings inspired by Waldorf education since 1999. Mindy holds a BS in Art History and Fine Art from Brooklyn College, and a Masters in Education from Antioch New England. Mindy has taught dance and movement for over 30 years and she brings her love of creativity & beauty to all that she does. Miss Mindy is our Buttercup Nursery/Kindergarten teacher and the Director of our Early Childhood program.

Yeletzy Garzon
Yeletzy Garzon

Yeletzy is from Colombia. She holds a Bachelor Degree of Arts in Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) from La Salle University in Colombia. After finishing her studies, she worked for two years as a Spanish Teacher Assistant in Rennes, France. Yeletzy also has eight years of experience as a Spanish and French teacher with elementary, middle and high school kids. She’s been teaching at Seastar as the Spanish teacher in 1st through 6th grade since April 2013. Her three years old daughter attends the Rosebud Nursery Class.

Stacy Scheile
Stacy Scheile

Stacy Scheile serves as the Aftercare Lead Teacher of our Early Childhood Aftercare program and as Assistant Teacher for Miss Rena’s Kindergarten. She has been a teacher at SeaStar for 6 years, from the time her daughter, now a 4th grader, began attending the Nursery program. Stacy holds a BA from the University of Florida. She is currently in her third year of Movement Education at the Spacial Dynamics Institute. She has studied puppetry in the Waldorf pedagogical style with Connie Manson and completed additional studies in Waldorf Education at Sunbridge Institute. She looks forward to beginning her Waldorf Teacher training in the coming year.

Andrea Dencker
Andrea Dencker

Andrea was born and raised in Colombia. She holds a Doctors Degree in Dental Medicine from Javeriana University in Bogota, where she practiced for almost 10 years before moving to South Florida. It was after having her daughter that she learned about Waldorf Education and her interest and fascination for it, motivated her to change her career path to that of teaching the young child. Andrea is Ms. Charissa’s Assistant in the Rosebud Nursery class and she is also our Handwork Teacher for 1st., 2nd., and 3rd. Grade. and continues her dedication to Waldorf Education with the addition of Foundation Studies in Anthroposophy.

Her children also attend Sea Star and are currently in 3rd. and 5th. Grade

Lila Cleveland
Lila Cleveland

First grade teacher, Lila Cleveland loves working with children, teaching according to Waldorf principles and making her lessons creative and fun. Last year she served as first/second grade co-teacher of modeling, crafts, storytelling, lively math and language arts under the mentorship of Carmen Manon. Lila’s parents were both University Art professors who encouraged her to practice yoga and meditation from childhood. She began higher education studying the Vedas (Ancient Indian texts) and Ayurveda (natural Eastern health care). She spent two years in India, assimilating the culture while learning traditional bronze sculpting and miniature painting. Having completed three yoga teacher trainings, she has been teaching yoga since 2013. She is currently enrolled in Waldorf teacher training at Antioch University, New England and will graduate from the three-year program in the summer of 2017. Lila is the mother of two teenage boys who spent their early years being raised and at times, home-schooled according to Waldorf principles.

Joan Hourican
Joan Hourican

Joan holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with Waldorf Elementary Certification from Antioch University in New Hampshire. After serving as Program Coordinator at Pine Jog Environmental Education Center of Florida Atlantic University for 18 years, Joan is pleased to bring her love of nature and experiential learning to the classroom. She finds that Waldorf education meets and nurtures the souls of her students. In the 2016-2017 school year, Joan serves as the 5th grade class teacher at Sea Star.

Marco Spindola Barron
Marco Spindola Barron

Marco was born in Mexico City. He studied music at The National School of Music and Drama at the Theater Research Center. He worked seven years at the Cuernavaca Waldorf School. He has taught music and drama to children, teenagers and adults for more than fifteen years. Marco continued his professional development for Waldorf teachers at the Rudolf Steiner Center in Toronto, Canada. He is committed to Waldorf Education and its anthroposophical principles. Marco is the sixth and seventh grade teacher, and the Orchestra’s conductor.

Carmen Manon
Carmen Manon

Carmen studied violoncello at the National School of Music of the National University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. She completed her training as a Waldorf grade teacher at the Anthroposophical Development Center (CDA) where she returns during the summer to train teachers in music and crafts.
Carmen has over 20 years’ experience as a music teacher and choral conductor.
She began her career as an elementary school Waldorf teacher at the Waldorf Education Center in Turrialba, Costa Rica. She continued her teaching at the Cuernavaca Waldorf School, Mexico, leading a class for three years. Both of her daughters attend Sea Star.

Edwin Ladaga
Edwin Ladaga

Edwin Ladaga has been a Waldorf Teacher for the last fourteen years. He trained at the London Waldorf Teacher Training Seminar in the UK. Having previously worked as an agricultural science researcher and lecturer, he brings his love of experimental science and learning in the classroom. He is the fourth grade main lesson teacher.

Jamie Hawk
Jamie Hawk

Jamie has the great pleasure of teaching gardening and practical arts to the children in first through third grade. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education from FAU in 2006 and has worked with children in and outside of the classroom setting ever since. Jamie has spent 5 years homesteading in the mountains of western North Carolina, raising her family, plants, and animals and practicing the skills of compassionate communication and community collaboration. She brings her love and knowledge as an herbalist and earth skills enthusiast to the children, supporting them in fostering love and connection with the natural world.

Sylvia del Real
Sylvia del Real

Sylvia del Real has been exploring music since she was a child. She holds a Bachelors Degree in String Pedagogy, Violin Principle, from Bob Jones University in South Carolina. Her love for strings, particularly the violin, has led her to establish her own private studio, Perfect 5ths String Studio, where she has been teaching violin, viola, and piano for the last four years. This year, in addition to teaching privately, Sylvia has the pleasure of teaching Beginning and Intermediate violin classes at Sea Star.

Joanna Sanguinetti
Joanna Sanguinetti

Joanna Sanguinetti has been an English as a Second Language and Spanish teacher for the last 5 years, she has a multicultural background having lived in Peru, Europe and the USA. She has her B.S. in Business Management from George Mason University and her Masters in TESOL from Nova Southeastern University. She currently teaches Spanish to 1st and 5th grade and assists with 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade.  She is eager to start her Waldorf teacher training this summer.

Adriana Abbade
Adriana Abbade

Adriana Abbade has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and spent many years working in business and marketing, tracing a successful career managing leading brands for large companies.  Upon the birth of her twin sons almost 18 years ago, began a new journey. She became a “professional parent”, constantly studying and learning about education, volunteering in the classroom, mentoring special education students, teaching healthy cooking and nutrition, and Portuguese among other things.  The more involved she became with education, the more she realized the need for a holistic approach in education and the more she felt compelled to take on that mission. Since then, she has worked with Aromatherapy, Energy Healing, Reiki, and other subtle therapies.  After receiving her third child, Adriana became a student of Anthroposophy and undertook formal training in Waldorf Educational Support with the Association for a Healing Education and Impulse Entelechy, with Dr. Jean Schweizer. Adriana is now an honored mother of three, step-mom of one, aunt and godmother, and a guide and mentor to many children and parents, all of whom have continuously been her truest teachers.

Grandma Valerie Woodworking (Valerie Bell)

Grandma Valerie was born in the Manitoba section of Canada on the Northern end of the Hudson Bay, and has lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri and now Florida. Since the day she was born she has had a love and respect of nature.
Grandma Valerie has been involved in Sea Star since 2007 either in the volunteer, working positions, or providing her woodworking expertise to the school. She has also been teaching at Palm Beach County schools now for 20 years, both private and public. She worked with the Miami Waldorf School providing Waldorf crafts as well as woodworking in 2012 and 2013. She also took a Rudolf Steiner Waldorf course on educational support in the classroom and home in 2012.
Grandma Valerie loves and embraces creativity with hands-on choices along with the nurturing of each child and reinforcing their strengths!
