Talk on Waldorf Pedagogy
We will be having a visiting veteran teacher, Mrs. Eleanor Seidman with us for the evening to speak on “The Inner and Outer Development of the Child during the Elementary Years” On Thursday, February 16, at 6PM in the 3rd/4th classroom at Sea Star.
The true understanding of the child during each year of his or her life is the fundamental base of Waldorf Education and the most important factor underlying the Waldorf curriculum. During the evening Mrs. Seidman will give us a deeper insight into the Waldorf pedagogy and curriculum, as well as answers to any question coming from you, the parents. The journey of the young child from being a unity with the surrounding world to an individual standing before the world with his or her own independent personality is fascinating, inspiring and all too often misunderstood.
This event is for free and we ask that you call the Sea Star office under 561 452 3618 to RSVP for your attendance.

Visitor Mornings

Sea Star will be holding a series of Visitors' mornings for folks who would like to learn more about Sea Star's programs and Waldorf Education.

The first Thursday morning of each month is Visitor’s Morning for the Early Childhood and Elementary Programs, and we welcome you to join us at 8:45 am in the Parent & Child room.

The morning will begin with a short talk about the Waldorf curriculum, followed by a tour of our classrooms, and a chance to go outside and observe the Kindergarten children at play. The morning will be hosted by Charissa Johnson, Early Childhood Enrollment Coordinator and Parent & Child teacher. Charissa attended Waldorf School from Nursery through grade 12, and it is a wonderful opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the education from someone who has experienced it. It is also a wonderful opportunity to discover an educational approach and school here in South Florida truly committed to honoring each child and where they are at their unique stage of development.
